Chris Torrance

Biography

Chris Torrance was born in Edinburgh in 1941 and grew up in London.  He moved to rural Wales in 1970 and taught creative writing at Cardiff University.  His work has been included in Children of Albion: Poetry of the Underground in Britain (1969), Conductors of Chaos (1996) and Other: British and Irish Poetry since 1970 (1999). His major work is the ongoing Magic Door sequence, of which seven books have been published to date.

Heat Poets

This recording of the Heat Poets, Chris Torrance and Chris Vine, was published as RORI: A Book of the Boundaries/  It was recorded in the Vale of Mercury, Wales and the Vale of Ruby, Brazil in 2008-2010.  Wesley Ribeiro plays drums on Taliesin and Ian McDonald contributed illustrations to the book which accompanies the CD.  For more information on the project contact cannapandv@tiscali.co.uk.
